The Association of Professional Bodies of Nigeria (APBN) has held her Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Wednesday 19th February 2025 at ICAN house, Alagbaka Akure, Ondo State.

The event recorded a seamless exchange of baton leading to the dissolution of the Sir David Ologun led administration as Surveyor Olofinte Johnson Ibitoye, fnis, who was the immediate past Vice Chairman of the association emerged as the substantive Chairman.

Rains of encomiums were poured on the erstwhile Chairman, Sir David Ologun for his resilience, transparency and dedication during his tenure.

However, the financial report of the dissolved executives showed a massive boost from the figure which was met upon assumption of office two years ago.

In his acceptance speech, Surveyor Olofinte Johnson Ibitoye affirmed that the association has the peculiarity that her membership are not individuals but professional bodies or association, each of which is represented by delegates.

While appreciating the efforts, selflessness and interests of the past leaders, Olofinte promised to consolidate on the efforts of the past administrations.

“We shall pursue vigorously the ideals of our past administrations.

We shall endeavor to complete their ongoing projects while initiating new ones. We shall give the acquisition of land for our Secretariat a top priority, while the welfare of members shall be pursued vigorously”.

He equally declared his readiness on behalf of the new executives to lead the association for the next two years.

Sir David Ologun informed Trumpet Magazine about the success dynamics of his tenure to include carrying out the association’s functions and activities together.

“We plan together, we implement together and we execute together”.

Ologun implored the new executives to work hard and disseminate information appropriately.

The new treasurer, Mrs Afolabi Morenike lauded the efforts of the past executives and described it as exemplary, worthy of emulation.

In her words, she noted that the low turnout of member bodies and their delegates during meetings is a major challenge of the association.

“The turnout today is not impressive at all. Our professional bodies are more than the attendance we have here.

I want to call on all our professional bodies to promote the interest of this association. Let us always attend our meetings and other activities punctually because the more we are, the merrier”.

“The reports we had from the past administration are very impressive. We hope to lift the association by pursuing our aims and objectives. I advise everyone to cooperate and come up with suggestions that can make the association thrive “. The new Chairman requested.

The post of the Financial Secretary went to Mr Fajemodupe Olusoji as other positions are to be decided thereafter.
