(Mrs) Adefolake Adeniyi is currently serving as the Secretary General of the Association of Professional Bodies of Nigeria (APBN) for the 2022-2024 Council tenure. Holding a B.Pharm. (Hons) degree from the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University), Ile-Ife, Osun State, Nigeria, she possesses over thirty-four years of public service experience, with 26 years in hospitals and approximately eight years in the administrative sector of the Directorate of Pharmaceutical Services, L/S Health Service Commission, as well as more than 20 years in a Management cadre. Additionally, she holds a Certificate in Computer Studies from the Federal College of Education, Akoka - Yaba, Lagos (1995).

Mrs. Adeniyi has contributed her services to various Specialist and General Hospitals, actively participating in health promotion and education at the grassroots level. She advocates for professionalism and ethical practice across all aspects of Pharmacy practice and public activities. She retired from the Lagos State Public Service as a Director of Pharmaceutical Services.

Her key skills include being an experienced Pharmacist with extensive public health and administrative experience, possessing highly developed organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, and demonstrating fluency in both spoken and written English. She is also computer literate, an experienced Health Educator and Administrator.

In terms of her service to the profession, Mrs. Adeniyi has held significant roles:

  • National Treasurer, Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN) - 2017-2020

  • National Treasurer, Association of Hospital and Administrative Pharmacists of Nigeria (AHAPN NATIONAL) - 2009 - 2012.

  • Chairman, AHAPN Lagos State - 2009 - 2012.

  • Interim National Treasurer, AHAPN NAT. - 2005 - 2006

  • Member, National Conference Planning Committee (AHAPN) - 2005 - 2006, 2009 - 2012

  • Executive Council member PSN, L/S - 2009 - 2012

  • Financial Secretary, PSN L/S - 2002 - 2005

She has received awards in recognition of her contributions:

  • Distinguished Service Award (DSA), Association of Hospital & Administrative Pharmacists of Nigeria, AHAPN - 2015.

  • Best Individual Worker (Top Management Category), Lagos State Health Service Commission - 2006.

  • Merit Award Winner, Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, (Lagos State Branch) - 2006

  • Award Winner, LSHSC Senior Staff Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited, Lagos, Nigeria - 2003

Mrs. Adeniyi is an active member of several associations, including the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN), International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP), Community Development Association, Lagos Anglican Girls’ Grammar School, Surulere, Alumni Association, and Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Alumni Association.

Her hobbies and interests include reading, horticulture, and counseling.
